Seeds Cape Lilac or Virgilia divaricatais a small to medium sized tree, with a bushy, rounded to broadly conical growth habit with branches growing close to the ground. It is very fast growing when young, attaining up to 4 feet in a year, and reaching their full height in only a few years. V. divaricata rarely exceeds 25 feet in height. This tree features hairy pinnate leaves and attractive mauve to pink pea shaped flowers followed by leathery pods. Hardy in zones 9b to 11.
