Seeds from this very unusual velvety almost black perennial with bright yellow centers is a viola called tricolor Sawyers Black. This 6 to 8 inch plant will blossom all summer if blossoms are kept picked off in zones 5 to 8. Mainly used as a ground cover under deciduous trees as it does not like full sun. This is a perfect plant for cottage paths and will reseed lightly for more plants next summer.
