Seeds from this Tradescantia x andersoniana Carmine Red Karminglut, also known as Carmine Glow, produces carmine red flowers. Tradescantia are tufted clumping 18 to 24 inch perennials with erect, branching stems and lance shaped, narrow, green leaves tinged with purple. These blooms are bright carmine red, with three triangular petals each. Be sure to cut the foliage back in the autumn. Does well even in wet soils and filtered light. They are in blossom from April thru October with almost continuous blooms. Hardy in zones 4 to 9.
