The glossy variegated green and lime colored 3-4 inch leaves are best grown in light shade. This plant is a spreading, bushy, many-branched shrub. This shrub grows to a height of 4-6 feet tall and prefers acid, moist and well drained soils. The gardenia flowers are highly fragrant. They open over a long period of time, from May through July and make great cut flowers.
