Seeds from Syringa josikaea or Hungarian Lilac. Syringa josikaea is an arching, spreading, deciduous shrub, 8 to 10 feet tall, and 8 to 12 feet wide. Leaves are glossy, deep green up to 5 inches long. Flowers are violet lilac, lightly fragrant 4 to 7 inch long. A neutral soil, with peat or leaf mold enrichment is needed. Works well for the shrub border, but not really a specimen plant. Zones 5 to 8.
