Seeds from this hard to find Seeds from Rosa Carolina, Pasture Rose or Sand Rose. This somewhat prickly shrub is about 1 to 3 feet tall, branching occasionally. It is usually erect, but taller plants sometimes sprawl. The prickles on the woody stems are slender and straight, and pairs of prickles often occur on opposite sides of the stems. The preference is full to partial sun, average to dry moisture conditions, and a loamy soil in zones 3 to 9b. This plant has considerable resistance to drought, and recovers readily from occasional wildfires.
