Pint Plant from Mrs G. G. Gerbing Azalea or Rhododendron indicum ‘Mrs. G. G. Gerbing’ is a woody bush evergreen shrub that averages 6 to 8 feet in height with a 4 to 6-foot spread. It is a vigorous rounded form with fairly dense foliage and a moderate growth rate. The leaves are evergreen and elliptical 2 to 3 inches long that are fuzzy and medium green in color. The white flowers are about 3 to 3 1/2 inches across and are single. It blooms in mid-spring, with the occasional rebloom in the fall. Fruit are 1/2 to 1 inch long, hard, brown, and usually inconspicuous. It is hardy in USDA Zones 7b to 10, down to about 10 degrees F with good heat tolerance. They prefer part sun to shade but will tolerate full sun in cooler regions.
