Starter plant 12 to 18 inches of Costa Rica Guava or Cas Guava Psidium friedrichsthalium. Produces yellow fruit, 1 to 3 inches around, similar to the common guava but often acidic. Usually used to make jams, jellies, and preserves, or as a flavoring for drinks. Growing to 20 feet in a sunny location in zones 9b to 11. Capable of withstanding short frosts.
