Starter Tree from Lemonwood Pittosporum eugenioides is an attractive tree, commonly found in forest and regenerating scrub. It is easily distinguished from other plants by its glossy yellow green leaves that when crushed emit a strong lemon scent. Sweet smelling yellow flowers appear in spring and are followed by small green capsules that take about a year to ripen. Grows upright and is bushy all the way to the base of the trunk. The bark is a pale grey color. Hardy and fast growing, Lemonwood can be used to cover an unsightly scene or provide a shelter belt between two properties.
