A 6 inch plant which is 2 years old. This Canary Island Date Palm Phoenix Canariensis is also called Pineapple palm. It grows in sunny well drained soil. Moderate grower from 30 to 50 feet. It can be cultivated where temperatures never fall below minus 10C or 14F, although it will require some protection if cold periods are longer than normal. This is one of the most beautiful palms and if you can have only one, this should be it.
