Nyctanthes arbor tristis fragrant jasmine gallon
Gallon of the most fragrant jasmine – Nyctanthes arbor tristis – Sad tree, Night Jasmine or Parijat. The sweet scented flowers are small, 1-2″, attractive shape, with white corolla and an orange-red tube in center and bloom profusely, opening at night and casting off in the morning thus making a carpet of flowers. Used in Buddhist temples, for worship. This plant is a very fast grower and will reach 5 feet high and 4 feet across. This plant does overwinter outside in my zone 8B area but does usually loses all its leaves if we have a killing frost, but comes back to blossom again in the summer. Use well drained soil and fertilize once a month. Zones 9-11.
