Seeds from the gorgeous Sacred Lotus or nucifera. This water plant is considered sacred in many Eastern cultures. The seed pod is one highly coveted by flower arrangers. The plant has its roots planted firmly in the soil and then sends out long stems that have the leaves attached. The flowers that rise above the water produce wonderful fragrances in the morning when they open. They grow best in calm water and bloom year-round in warmer climates. Just use sandpaper to file down one side and then place seed in water and it should root within a few weeks. Zones 4 to 11.
