Seeds of this and very easy to grow tropical Musa siamensis or Thai Gold. This Musa species has only recently been introduced to the horticultural scene and it is still rare. Originating from the south of Thailand it is related to Musa laterita. The plant has also been named Thai Gold in the USA and has wrongly been described as a form of Musa ornata. Musa siamensis has a upright yellow inflorescence a rare color among the Musa family. It grows 6 to 9 feet high in full sun to slight shade. Hardy in zones 9 to 11 and just loved the sun. The seeds need to be soaked for 24 hrs and then sown 1 deep and kept at 68 to 77 degrees with light. These can take anywhere from 8 weeks to 4 months to germinate.
