Seeds of this Very Rare and very easy to grow Musa schizocarpa self Splitting Banana A large, wild banana from moderate altitudes in the rainforests of New Guinea. It can grow to be 30 feet tall. The bracts of the inflorescence are green and are in a large bunch of green fruits that split open as they ripen, revealing a white fruit with a small, angled seeds. It is one of a few species that are schizocarpic or dehiscent fruited with self splitting and peeling fruit. It is unknown in cultivation but would make a nice ornamental for the tropics. Zones 9 to 11
