Seeds from this Musa acuminata spp. sumatrana and is very similar to M. zebrina. Only growing 4 to 6 feet tall, this banana is hardy in zones 8 to 11 . Pseudostems are slender, freely suckering and reddish. Petioles are short, leaves are deep grey green blotched with dark wine red above and red beneath. The seeds need to be soaked for 24 hrs and then sown 1in deep and kept at 68 to 77 degrees with light. These can take anywhere from 8 weeks to 4 months to germinate.
