Seeds from this unusual Musa acuminata from Borneo. This banana is said to have basic characteristics of M. acuminata with the typical toplike male bud, with the horizontal-to-oblique inflorescence and bunch and the rather slender fingers. The flowers have a purplish to pinkish bud. A good, reliable ornamental for warm temperate and tropical areas. As I have not grown these yet, I can give you no hands on experience only what my supplier tells me about this new offering. The seeds need to be soaked for 24 hrs and then sown 1″ deep and kept at 68 – 77 degrees with light. These can take anywhere from 8 weeks to 4 months to germinate.
