Creeping wire vine Muehlenbeckia axillaris variegated is an uncommon garden plant. A fast-growing, low-growing, vining plant that originated in Australia and New Zealand. The tiny, oval, deep green splotched with white and pink leaves and brownish stems remain attractive through the winter, and the tiny white flowers appear in late spring. Can cover a large container with lots of speckled spillovers from the edges of the pots. grows only 2 to 6 inches (5-15 cm.) tall, depending on the variety and the climate. Its low-growing ground-hugging growth habit makes it resilient to wind and it works well on difficult slopes. Grows best in full sun or partial shade and is insistent on well-drained soil. Hardy in zones 7-9.
