Pint plant of Lime Mint Mentha aquatica or Watermint 1 to 3 feet tall x 3 feet wide. Perennial with smooth to hairy, often reddish-purple stems, sporting large, toothed, glossy, oval leaves, from 2. 5 to 3. 5 inches long, and tubular lilac flowers in dense spheres at the tips of their stalks. The whole plant is strongly scented of citrus. Native to streams, pools, brooksides and marshy places of Eurasia, and said to be the most common wild mint in England. Zones 6 to 9. Wonderful used in potpourris, homemade cosmetics and colognes, and sparingly in fruit dishes as it has a very strong flavor.
