Seeds of Leptospermum petersonii white swan Lemon-scented Tea-tree. Small tree 10-20′ with fine, lime green scented foliage and white flowers in early summer. Hardy to most soils and situations. Tolerant of light frosts, extended dry periods and pruning. Great small tree for small gardens. Excellent screen, windbreak and hedge. Leaves and stems contain essential oils used in candle and soap making. Leaves can be used as a tea substitute. The leaves, if crushed, give off a lemon scent. It has similar cultural requirements as L. laevigatum. Plant in full sun. It is drought tolerant. Protect from hot, dry winds. It will grow in seaside conditions. It is slightly frost-tender, taking temperatures down to about 25 degrees F. Growing 12-20 feet tall and 8-12 feet wide in full sun.
