Seeds from this Koelreuteria bipinnata, Chinese Golden Rain tree or Bougainvillea golden-rain tree. It can grow to 16′-25′ tall and 15′ across. In the spring this tree produces long strands of bright yellow flowers up to 5 feet long. They are then followed by these huge seed heads of dark rose seed pods appearing as large begonia like bracts. They grow in full sun to part shade with very little extra care and have very few insect problems. Hardy in zones 8-11. Enjoys cooler winters and is hardy to 10 degrees.
