You are purchasing a large quart plant of Japanese Lantern, Skeleton Hibiscus or Hibiscus schizopetalus. This is one of my very unusual and exotic hibiscus. The upturned petals with the intricate netted designs with the dropped and upturned pistol make this a real showstopper. Growing up to 10 feet in zones 9 and above. This plant is in blossom from mid summer through last fall in my zone 8B, is hardy to zone 11. Very easy to grow and keep in bounds compared to other hibiscus and is very heat tolerant and is somewhat drought tolerant.
