Starter plant of Hibiscus ratiatus, October Rose, Monarch Rose Mallow, Ruby Hibiscus. This 10′ shrub is a perennial in zones 10-11 but an annual in other zones as it grows from seed to a large bush and blossoms in one season. These rich dark burgandy cup shaped flowers cover the stems in October when most other hibisucs are done for the season. Prefers full sun but will blossom in part shade and is quite drought tolerant once established.
