Pint plant from Hibiscus Midnight Marvel. Huge, pure red blooms glow against the richest purple foliage in the genus. Buds are not just at the tips, but all the way down the stems, blooms appear for a long period of time starting in midsummer. A front of the border perennial that doesn’t need to be in the back like other hibiscus might. Native to swampy areas, Midnight Marvel loves moist, rich soils, but adapts well to dryer, poor conditions. Stems will die down to the ground over winter in colder climates. Zones 4 to 9.
