Here I am offering a pint plant of Hibiscus acetosella Mahogany Splendor, also known as Red Leaf Hibiscus, False Roselle, and African Rose Mallow. This small shrub resembles a mini Japanese maple. This plant grows 5 to 6 feet tall, and sends up a lovely mahogany screen of deep burgundy, maple shaped, serrated leaves. As such it can be used quite effectively in landscape settings or as a specimen plant. The foliage will have green rust tones in the greenhouse, but these leaves mature to burgundy in the full sun when grown outdoors. USDA Hardiness Zones 8 to 11
