Seeds Hesperocallis undulata Ajo Lily or Desert Lily. Very fragrant, large waxy white flowers. Narrow, wavy-margined leaves. The unbranched erect stems are typically 12″ to 20″ high. Bulbous plant that blooms in April and May, but may bloom earlier if conditions are right. Native to Colorado desert of Southern California. Grows in sandy soil and hardy in zones 9a-11. The bulbs have a garlic-like flavor and were eaten by native americans. Germination in 1 to 4 months and said to be tricky to germinate.
