Twelve inch long green stems bearing racemes of white with purple stripes star-shaped flowers with purple edged petals and purple ovaries. A tuft of green bracts ringed with purple at the top of the flower makes the cluster of flowers resemble a pineapple. This South African 30 inch flower is hardy in zones 8-10.
