Starter 8 to 10 inch plant of native African banana Ensete ventricosum is one of the fastest growing of all the bananas. Known to normally grow up to 6 feet in one year. Not producing edible fruit but shows off their unfurling leaves with both red and sometimes white edges. The dark maroon midrib is very attractive. This is best grown in large pots as it does not tolerate heavy frosts. Hardy in zones 9 to 11.
