Quart pot of American persimmon of Diospyros virginiana. This fruit has a nutty almond-like flavor and should be eaten only when fully ripe as it is astringent until ripe. Growing up to 50″ in zones 5-9. Deer love these fruits and will eat any they can reach or the fallen fruit. Can grow successfully in either wet or sandy soils.
