Seeds from Daphne mezereum February Daphne, Garland Flower or Paradise plant. This 3 to 4 foot shrub loves full sun to partial shade in zones 3b to 8b. The very fragrant flowers are produced in early spring on the bare stems before the leaves appear. NOTE: The fruit is a bright red berry and is very poisonous for people, though fruit eating birds like thrushes are immune and eat them. Long term germination is required and germinate sporadically for 2 to 3 years.
