Pint Plant from Cestrum newellii. An evergreen shrub that is great for hedging. Showy clusters of tubular crimson flowers top a 2-4? stems. It can grows to 8 feet tall by 6 feet wide at maturity. Their arching stems of soft velvet and burgundy tinged leaves can flower all year round in a frost free areas. The flowers are followed by purple/red berries. In northern areas the blooms appear from spring to fall. It will attract birds, butterflies, and hummingbirds. The berries and sap are highly toxic so don’t eat this one. There are possibilities it’s a hybrid between C. fasciculatum x C. elegans. It takes full sun in cooler climates and part shade where summers are warmer and is not soil fussy. Deer resistant. Hardy to about 10 degrees. Zones 8-11
