Seeds of Cercis canadensis Covey Lavender Weeping Redbud. It typically grows to 10 to 15 ft tall with a 6 to 8 ft spread. It generally has a short often twisted trunk and weeping branches. The bark is dark in color smooth later scaly with ridges and sometimes with maroon patches. The winter buds are tiny rounded and dark red to chestnut in color. The leaves are simple heart shaped. The flowers are showy light to dark lavender in color. The flowers are pollinated by long tongued bees such as blueberry bees and carpenter bees. Zones 4 to 9.
