Seeds are very small from Calceolaria cana. In Chile this species grows up to the timber line at a altitude of 2000 m. Watering conditions: Somewhat dry areas where the drought may last 3 – 5 months. Precipitations of 400 – 800 mm. are concentrated in winter. Light conditions: Some shadow. Some protection against direct sunlight, some shadow from vegetation, filtering about 20 – 40 % of light. USDA Hardiness Zones 3- 8. The plant tolerates low temperatures -8 C, can tolerate occasional snow cover for up to a couple of weeks per year. SEEDS ARE TINY. RINSE SEEDS OUT WITH WATER.
