Seeds from this Giant Milkweed Tree or Calotropis gigantea. Medium sized to large shrub with light lavender flowers and seeds with a parachute of hairs. The plant grows 8 feet tall and is hardy in zone 10-11. This plant is host to a variety of insects. The butterfly Plain Tigerand Common Crow breeds here; their caterpillars feed on the leaves. The shiny blue bee Xylocopa also visits. Although its blooms can be seen all through the year, its flowers mostly during summer season.
