Aristolochia cymbifera Santa Maria Madalena | Quart Plant

Aristolochia cymbifera Santa Maria Madalena | Quart Plant

Here I am offering a Starter Plant of Aristolochia cymbifera Santa Maria Madalena. This is another rare and peculiar Aristolochia. This A. Cymbifera is an evergreen perennial from Brazil with long stalks, and dark green, heart shaped, leaves. From the Aristolochiaceae family, this plant might commonly be called Whistling winds or a Pipe Vine. It is native to Brazil, and enjoys being planted in SemiShade. Be careful of spider mites, especially under glass. Place in a bright spot and keep constantly moist but not wet. As far as fertilizing goes. .2Percent ig or long term fertilizer is recommended. Santa Maria Madalena is a municipality in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janiero which has winter low temperatures of about 15C which is about 60F. Aristolochia cymbifera Santa Maria Madalena would survive cooler temperatures but how much lower is a question I have not found the answer for. I would guess that this is Zone 10 and higher. The USDA Hardiness Zones are Unknown for now, But I do have about 10 of them in my green house. USDA Hardiness Zones 10 to 11
