Seeds from Arbutus unedo. Arbutus unedo or Strawberry tree is a laurel-like bush or small tree found in non-calcareous maquis. The flowers are white or pink and bell-shaped you can see a few in the photo and appear in autumn and sometimes, as here, in early spring. The fruit is red and despite its name is quite tasteless. Zones 5-10.
