Viola beckwithii Great Basin violet, Beckwith's violet 7 seeds


Seeds of Viola beckwithii is a species of violet known by the common name Great Basin violet, Beckwith's violet, and sagebrush pansy. A solitary flower growing on an upright stem. It has five petals, the lowest three lavender colored and the upper pair violet/maroon with purple veining and yellow or orange bases. It is native to the Western United States, from Washington and Oregon, to the mountains of northern Nevada, and in California to the southern High Sierra Nevada. The stems are up to about 8 ½ inch long, often with much of their length underground. The fleshy compound leaves have dissected leaflets of varying shape and size. Hardy to zones 7-9.
