Proboscidea parviflora Black seeded Plant

Proboscidea parviflora Black for black basketry plant. Starter seedlings of Proboscidea parviflora Black seeded. In the Southwest only one plant was deliberately planted and bred for its black fibers, specifically for their basketry. Its name comes from the small hooks on the plants fruit. I grow this just because it is pretty, but I know that in some parts of the world it is used for medical purposes. The very interesting seed pod is where it gets its name. Growing 30 inches tall, it is an annual in my zone 8B garden.
