this very unusual plant Solanum ovigerum, that is part of the eggplant family, although I have never eaten it they say it is very bitter. This is a real show stopper, especially in the late spring if you can keep them growing through the winter. I dip a cup of easter egg coloring around each egg to give them all pastel colors. The grandchildren are always amazed. The are exactly the same growning directions as any eggplant, just start inside late winter and put out when all danger of frost passes.Easter Egg Tree, actual chicken sized eggs that change from green to white to deep yellow. Grows to about 2 feet tall and spreads about 12 inches

Yellow Walking Iris or Neomarica longifolia. This upright evergreen perennials with yellow-green foliage growing to 2 feet tall is a member of the iris family with lancelike leaves that arise from rhizomes growing just below the soil surface. Plant in filtered sun and apply general garden fertilizer once each month in March, June and September. Prefers a moist soil; water at least once a week during hot, dry weather. It is easy to start new plants by dividing older clusters. Also remove new plants from the ends of flowering stems that bend down to the ground to grow roots and shoots (thus the name walking iris). Plants are severely damaged by freezing weather but usually grow back from rhizomes near the ground. Remove arching flowering stems before they root in the soil to keep plantings in bounds. Walking irises are ideal plants for shady garden sites. The plants grow well in the damp sites and bog gardens Iris Yellow Walking

This is one the most spectacular hot summer bloomers that I have. It is perfectly named HAM AND EGGS as the colors are perfect and butterflies just love it as you can see. But deers hate it if that is a problem. This drought resistant fast growing shrub grows to about 3 feet tall and about 30 inches across. The dark green oval leaves have a sandpaper like feel and an unusual order as most lantanas do. This plant does overwinter outside in my zone 8B area.
