Australian favorite specimen Lacebark Bottle tree. The Lace Bark Tree has beautiful large deep pink flowers that appear in summer after the leaves have fallen. The bell-shaped flowers are 2-3 across and this tree also features a slightly swollen bottle trunk. Growing only 15-20 feet tall, this is a prefect tree for small yards. The heart shaped leaves are large 8-10 and have very soft fuzzy undersides. It grows in full sun to part shade with very little extra care and have very few insect problems. Hardy in zones 9-11 and should be protected in cold spells when still young.

Ponytail palm or Beaucarnea recurvata, theyl can get up to 30 ft tall and the base up to 12 ft across, but houseplants generally remain less than 6-8 ft tall. The leaves are thin and flat, up to 6 ft long and only 1 in wide. They are clustered in dense tufts at the ends of the branches and arch upward, then droop downward. The stem is covered with old leaf bases and is topped with a dense head of bright green pinnate leaves that grow to about 4 ft in length. Cream colored flowers are on short, 1 ft inflorescences and are followed by small black dates on the female plants. Although this palm is single stemmed most of the time you see it grouped in 3 or 5 per planting. When grouped like this, the stems tend to curve away from the center of the clump creating an especially attractive grouping especially as at a garden entrance.
